Raising skimmer

    This may sound like a stupid question but I was wondering what people use to raise their skimmers off of the bottom of their sumps? My sump is 12 deep but the skimmer works best in 6 to 8 of water so I need to raise it about 4 inches, any ideas?

    I'd just use some weld-on #16 and make a little acrylic table. A large PVC cap that is flat on the top would work as well.
