    Hi All,

Just decompressing on a beautiful spring night. Of course that involves some tank gazing. Then that led to taking some random pics. Some turned out - so I figured I would share.

Some of the pics (the first, second and fourth) show something that I believe is called heteroxenia. The third pic is also of what I think is heteroxenia but it is more pink/silver-ish (totally different frag). I could be mistaken BUT I think that little purple cluster just might be some of the variety referred to as "Octopus Ink". I picked them up at the LFS the other day - some guy brought in a huge bunch of them because he "hated the rock they were on".

These little octopus polyps are incredibly awesome, they look iridescent purple & blue (the camera is not doing them justice). Like an octopus, they have 8 little arms that do not pulse quite the way a xenia does so much as undulate - more like octopus tentacles would - they actually curl and uncurl a bit. They are highly detailed along the edges - absolutely gorgeous - cannot wait til they start to spread.

If anyone else has these or knows more about them, feel free to share your info or pics :)

In the meantime, enough babble.....on with the pics.

Hope all of you are enjoying your Friday night as well.

Frogspawn, hammer and torch!?!?! You have yourself a sweet LPS trio. Lol. Pictures are looking great. And yes, that is a heteroxenia in the first picture.

thank you so very much....im excited about everything i have gotten. Yeah the torch and frogspawns (3 of those now) are all growing quite noticeably. My wee hammer is too.

I am very glad to be getting a bigger tank set up pretty soon to give everyone a better space to grow in.

Im VERY excited about my heteroxenias....I am pretty sure that I have two kinds (the ones in the first 4 pics). They are awesome and the colors are just beautiful. Thank you for confirming the ID. !
