Oh man that sucks. Karma to ya.

Any radical temp changes (heat wave?) or anything that could have stressed them out? :-/

Just a couple of things, and with due respect to Karlas :)

Ich is not present to every marine tank. It is certainly a major problem and is in plague proportions but certainly not ever present

The link supplied was for fresh and brackish water fish and is a different type of Ich, the type you should be studying is Cryptocaryon irritans.

Refer to these links for further information.

I'm really, really sory to hear about your loss.   Did your anemone make it? How many did you loose?

I'm also experiencing what I think is ich but nothing like you experienced. It is only affecting my hippo tang and the spots are not all that many and are tiny, tiny plus she eats and feels great.

I've been feeding everything soaked in garlic. I don't know if that is what has helped or not but I'm trying to feed at least two times a day with the garlic. They love it!

In a few weeks I will be replacing my sandbed so when I do I may QT all of my fish at that time. I have a couple of big tubs that I bought. Except for the tangs I will probably use copper. Copper is harmful to tangs. From what I read the parasite takes up to 6 weeks to cycle and die off. I will do a fresh water dip to help rid the parasites and then use a hyposalinity water. The parasite still remains in my tank water, sand and LR. So while the fish are bing QT for 6 wks my tank will also be QTing itself for the 6 weeks. By then it should be safe to move everything back into it plus I will have new sand and will have rinsed off the LR with SW.

Let us know how things are going. Again I'm sorry, I know you must be devastated.

These are some links that were given to me by Craig and were very helpful.
