    I have mixed opinions about this. Since she is new I recommend against a skimmer. Its an expensive piece to buy for the tank, its going to be hard for a newbie to tune, and its not nessecary in my opinion. I actually happen to have a 29 fish only setup, it has 2 HOB power filters and a single JBJ powerhead and it works very well. One of the HOBs is an aqueon quit flow, which is probably the same filter that came with her kit. Great solid filter with good flow. As long as you aren't dumping food in your tank and you have plenty of live rock, a skimmer isn't really that important in my eyes.

    I plan on eventually getting a skimmer and everything else that i mentioned earlier in the thread. I was jus wanting to know what yall thought i should do first since I made a lot of mistakes. but definitely not a she! LOL

    I get the thanks dude, or guy so it's kind of funny to see the shoe on the other foot for once. ::)

    Add more rock, and powerheads is the way I would proceed.

    This is where I would start too. Add rock and some flow and then work your way up from there.
