I currently have a skimmer that sits in my filter it is about 10 years old. i believe it is a berlin. it is on a 95 gal reef. it appears it had had it and is barely working. i am currently planning on building a 125-150 gal mixed reef with a sump over the winter and would like a reccomendation on something i can get that i can currently use on this tank and continue to use when the new one is up and running. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Buy a skimmer that is rated at twice the volume of your new tank. Eshopps brand are inexpensive and very effective.

It is, but running one rated for twice your tank volume won't do it. How much room do you have in your current sump for a skimmer?

I like swc cone skimmers and the bubble magus ripoff of the swc cone.

I like my ASM G1x. You should probably go with a g3 or bigger if you have the room.8)
