I have the BH-100F, but that is an HOB model, as I dont run a sump on my 40. But they have some great in-sump models as well that I have checked out, built every bit as well as my current one. They tend to be on the larger size though, so you will have to check to see how much room you have in the sump.
Aqua C EV-120, PM Redline 100 would also be decent choices worth checking out

Oooooooo I have a list for you. For a 55g, they may seem like a little much, but it's not out of line.

In order of preference (if it were me)

    In Sump:

    PM Bullet-1
    E.T.S.S. Reef Devil
    AquaC EV-120
    ASM G1-X
    Octopus DNW-110
    Aqua Medic Turbo Flotor 1000
    Aqua Medic Turbo Flotor Blue

    Hang On Back possiblities

Aqua Medic Turbo Flotor 1000 Multi SL
    AquaC Remora Pro
    Octopus BH-100F

ya they do al seem a lil much, but i gues it wouldnt be that good to skimp on a skimmer. i like the recirculation skimmers but them make you buy an extra pump for it to work wich raises the price quite a bit. have you ever seen the octopus nw150 ?
