So i used the reefcleaners.org website and they recommended me a cleanup crew. I have a 20 gallon high tank that will likely be eventually setup with about 7 lbs live rock seeding 15 lbs base rock and 20 lbs live sand. I will likely only have beginner corals such as zoas, leathers, and mushrooms with light fish livestock also (a goby, blenny, and firefish probably). This is the recommended cleanup crew they gave me. It seems way too big for my size tank but then again, im a bit noobish.

    20 Dwarf Ceriths
    9 Nassarius
    9 Florida Ceriths
    6 Blue Legs
    3 Large Nerite
    3 Small to medium Nerites
1 five pack of mangroves or 1 chaeto or both together

What do you guys think. By the way I do not have a refugium for this take.

I trust John, he know's CUC like no other imho. You won't see the ceriths much unless the lights are out. The dwarf ceriths will spend most of there time getting the detritus out of the smaller crevices and hole in your rock. I'd say that's a good crew. Don't know if you want chaeto and/or mangroves in your display though but critters sound good to me.

looks about right compared to what he recommended for my 90.

100 Dwarf Ceriths - small effective cleaners
21 Nassarius - for the fish when they arrived - (scavenger)
    48 Florida Ceriths
    3 CHitons
    15 Limpets
    19 Large Nerite
    2 five pack of mangroves
1 chaeto or ulva or gracilaira
then some varied macros to go with your plan.

So i know all the great benefits of having a refugium (pods, nutrient control, chaeto, etc...) however I dont have the space available for one. If my tank is already setup with substrate and half my rock, is there anyway to make an inside tank refugium in the back or something that I could put some chaeto in?
Thx for the help on the cleanup crew I will take your guys advise.

Doing one inside the display tank is possible but it will be much easier to get one of the hang on back ones designed to fit behind the tank like a freshwater filter box or if your handy you can make your own. There are a few DIY builds that actually comvert a HOB filter into a mini refugium.

So if i do the HOB Filter converted to refugium, will it really be able to sustain a pod population with all that fast water movement going through a small area like that?
