I wanted to share fragging my Acan Hillae.

Stuff is rather pricey. Wanted to see if I can frag this guy. Maybe one day my tank will start contributing back to my pocket.

I took a little rebbermaid container and filled up with my tank water. I looked over the specimen to see what the best spot would be. Found a piece on the backside no one sees.

I scored half the eye with an an X-acto Knife. Wanting to take the lower half.

I used some heavy duty scissors to break it off.

Worked out quite well with no damage to the mother piece.

Broke it down smaller to create some 1/4" frags.

Glued them down to some frag plugs.

The one in the center is from when I purchased it. A tiny sliver came off the mother and I was able to glue it down. You can now see its created a full eye. That is what encouraged me to do this.

This was a success... Lookin at other corals in my tank now. Im hopin one day I can start a frag tank with nothing but frags off my display tank.
