    It's not a caularpa nor a gracilaria species.

    It's a Botryocladia Sp. IIRC

    I never had it go asexual on me and I kept it for ~3 years. Problem I had with it is it grew like made in my tank and dropped the bubbles often.

    so i should be ok. i have it resting in the sand bed and its not growing into any rocks. So i can keep it under control.

    It will never grow crazy like that. Not even all the caulerpas are invasive, just some (which are the more common ones). If that stuff goes nuts at all you'll have fellow reefers knocking on your door for some.

    If you have large turbo snails... kiss it good bye. Everything loves this stuff.

    I've never had it go south either. Usually mine is eaten. I have macros in most of my tanks. This one is zero problems.
