I recently noticed what appear to be small red polyps growing on some Florida LR. Anyone have any idea what they are?

It is a type of macro algae. PM John of Reef Cleaners, one of our sponsors, he will most likely be able to answer your question.

I don't consider Macros in a display tank a problem! the look nice, add a more natural look to the tank and help keep PO4 levels down.

It is a Macro algae, in fact I would have to say its a small piece of Halymenia sp which is a fairly slow growing algae,

It does resemble Halymenia floresia. I'm all for Macro Algae in the display as long as it's manageable.

I haven't been able to get an exact ID on this red algae. It looks good and doesn't bother anything so I'll just let it grow.
