    i bought the red sea salt test kit, does anyone have any experance with it and what do you think?

    Which test kit? I have the Red Sea MG test kit and it's fairly accurate as far as I can tell. All my other kits are API.

    it just says marine lab kit, what is MG?

    MG is Magnesium. If you got the kit you probably got the basics, ph, ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, etc. I haven't used these tests from Red Sea - just MG. My experience with this test has been good so far, perhaps others here have some experience with the other tests.

    yes you are correct it is the basic test kit i still need the cal,mg and phos....

    Don't buy the red sea kits for cal and mg. I'd go with salifert.

    Salifert is much easier and better to use.

    I had a red sea kit the reason I did not like it was that you needed a different water level for varios tests. The API kits all use the same amount of water so it's much easier. I did use my Red sea kit for about a year though.
