    I've used this red slime remover:
    Boyd Chemi-Clean
    It works well with no ill effects in my tank. If your tank is low on oxygen you could have a problem for the fish.

    The problem is it will just come back unless you address the real problem of nutrients.

    Well I have conquered the red slime and that is not an issue anymore. Now it is green hair algae and I am currently running a ViaAqua PR 2020 with Bellaphos in it to remove any unwanted P04 and such. Hopefully that will take it all away.
