I was reading it before I use it, it says to cut off skimmer;ok got that but is it necessary to have an airtsone since the return is running and still pulling air as it makes its way to the sump. Just need to know before I use cuz if i need an airstone then ive gotta go buy a pump.

    Thanks
    joe

Thx homegrown, Lol I discovered the root of this problem to. When I got my 2 fish last week like 2 days after I noticed attack of the slime starting so I upped my skimmer producing, turned lights off a lil more and this **** still continued to grow. Discovered my wifey was the result of this. I had asked her to give a pinch at dinnertime to them but she went overboard. Shes the one that feeds them flake and I give them a real seafood treat evry other day of my diy food. Well just opened my flake jar and was like holy hell good portion is missing. Asked the wiofe she says they still looked hungry after I feed them to I feed them more. Lol well long and behold shes not allowed to feed anymore!

i used the air stone too anyways just to make sure the red slime was gone but the most important thing is the 20% water change in between treatments

If it is ultra life red slime remover, the box i have in front of me tells you to run the protein skimmer but you may need to readjust, air stone recommended, and no water change needed,
i didn't use an air stone ,and it wiped mine out in one treatment in 3 days, and it never returned. and no harm to my fish corals or cuc.
