Reef Central Ban

I have been a member of Reef Central as well as 3Reef and other forums since I got back into saltwater about a year and a half ago. I like Reef Central primarily because there is a local forum for Upstate NY, mainly WNY.

So today I posted an Off Topic post that I had a pair of tickets available for the upcoming Foo Fighters concert in Buffalo. The post was promptly removed because you are not allowed to sell anything other than reef related equipment, which I was not aware of and is perfectly fine with me now that I know the rules.

So understanding that selling concert tickets was not allowed I went back and simply posted the following:

Foo Fighters Show
If anyone is interested in going send me a PM for more information.

Hours later when I attempted to access the forum I received this message.

"You have been banned for the following reason:
No reason was specified.

Date the ban will be lifted: 06/08/2011, 08:00 PM"

Seems to me that a moderator may have let the power go to his head and has apparently banned me without cause. I may be done with Reef Central

 

Dont really think this goes in general reef topics.

anyways I visited there for like 4 days. Just seemed like a bunch of elitest that spent thier time newb bashing. I say forget them & welcome to full time 3reef. lol.

 

Honestly, you did exactly what you were told you were not allowed to do again. Plus, its a one week ban. Really not long at all.

 

i think reefcentral and the reef tank are all sites ran by power hungery moderators, that is why i prefer 3reef to either.

 

Just a FYI from some one that has spent a decade plus on reef forums....It's poor form to go onto another forum and complain about the other. That creates bad blood between the websites and it's truly between you and Reef Central. Anything else is simply TMZ gossip and serves no purpose.

I could have told you the second one would land you a ban. Your intent was shown with the first post, kinda hard to retract that even if it wasn't your intent with the second post. To them you tried to circumvent the rules and that's an instant ban. Try circumventing the rules here... you'll get yourself a warning the first time.
