I have the skimmed sitting in my sump at 10 in. of water. The collection cup lid blown off. I try to set the tuning, but it still too much water. The only way I can adjust the bubble water line is have the pump hole leaning very close to the glass, so it slow the incoming water to the skinner. Why is like this?? Plz help me.

Raise the body out of water more. I had something very similar problem with my skimmer, and customer support said it needed 4.75 inches - 5.5 inches, not the advertised 6-10 inches.

Hmm...mine is sitting in 9" of water and is skimming no problem. I did have this problem when breaking it in, however, I did not have a bio load while cycling, but I was running ecobak while cycling, so I needed the skimmer to skim. Once I added my fish/coral over, within a day this problem ceased and it is now producing some nice skimmate.

I'm working on my build and have the same issue sort of with the nwb-150. I called customer service to ask about a longer pipe. They said ou can raise this pipe a bit but not too much (1-2") and that it is going to go nuts at first and could overflow but will settle right down.

Is there room for a stand in the sump??

Yah its really odd, I ran my skimmer in 7 inches no problems for like 6 weeks, then I had the same issue as the OP. Called CoralVue, and was given the above solution. Haven't really had an issue since.

I had a similar prob with my mwb 110..turns out the flow in the sump passing the skimmer was to fast..slowed it down a bit and good to go..hth..
