For the most part, they stay in the refug. Remember that the flow in the refug is very slow. I poured mine into a hugh piece of cheato. Luna

lol nice, they just started getting them in $13.99, nice i dont have to order them.i got an in tank fuge consits about 5 inches deep of lr rubble and shells, and then about 3 inches of sand under that, pilled in the back corner. then i inject the pods into the shell pile with a turkey baster and the pumps off for and hour. did this in my old 44 gal tank, with a dragonet, shrimp, and firefish in there, and it still produced tons of food of all species, i would almost considered it infested with pods.never had to recharge it in the 8 months the tank was running. I hope this one will produce just as well.

The green liquid is most likely phytoplankton which feeds the pods while they're in the bottle. If the bottle has an expiration date and you aren't past it, the liquid should be fine to add to your tank but I would make sure by only adding a little at a time over a couple of days.

Well, I've never heard of that brand/product so I don't know anything about the quality of the phytoplankton that they use to feed the pods. I suppose that a quick sniff of the bottle could determine how fresh the phyto is?

Well, didja sniff it? It's encouraging that the manufacturer stamps a date on it so at least you know it's fresh!
