reef star

Ok I have a friend that wants me to buy these to lights off of him there 2 250 watt reef star mh's . I would like to know how much you guys would pay for these lights because I'm very new to the slat water side of things thanks for the help

 

Depends.

Are they new? No, How many months of use?
What bulbs come with them? How many months on the bulbs?

If they are very new, and had a good quality, low hours bulb, then I would pay upwards of 300 for both shipped.

There are a ton of good light systems out there for cheap right now. I just paid 150 for a pair of 250W halides, ballasts, reflectors, and a VHO system as well. It was a used system with no bulbs.

 

I know that he keeps all of his thing in great condition but I don't how many hours are on the bulbs I was thinkin about just getting new ones to be on the safe side

 

If you current tank doesn't have MH on them already and you want to upgrade to the MH's .. Use the old bulbs as is to get your tank use to the new style of lighting ... And over a short time period change one bulb out at a time to a new bulb . THis way your tank can get acclimated to your new lights...

And how much is he/she asking for the MH set up..?
