    hi all

this question must have been asked many times
I tried the search function but could not ID exactly the thread I was looking for

    Wrasse
Im looking for a different reef safe wrasse compatible with a Radient Wrasse
anyone on here keeping or having kept, any other wrasse with a Radient
    please post your experiences

also it would help me to know, which order you stocked the 2 or more wrasse in the set up

I can't speak directly about a radiant wrasse, but I can say you may be overly concerned about this. Wrasses (reef safe) play just fine together, so long as you don't overpopulate a tank and your mixing amongst the "peaceful" genus (Cirrhilabrus, Paracheilinus, Macropharyngodon, & some Halichoeres). Of course, there's always some exceptions to this, but those come down to individual fish.

Here's my current wrasse list, all in the same tank:
    Pair of flame wrasses
    Lineatus wrasse
    Scott's wrasse
    Lubbock's wrasse
    McCosker's flasher
    Canary wrasse

great 1st reply Evolved, thank you very much
I see the words "With caution" on compatibility charts and that concerned me
you have a couple there I was considering (live aquaria surfing this afternoon)

Live Aquaria is sometimes a little off on their wrasse info. What one(s) are you questioning? If it's a Cirrhilabrus, Paracheilinus, or Macropharyngodon wrasse, don't worry about it. For Halichoeres wrasses, this is my favorite article: HalichoeresBestArt

Oh, I misinterpreted what you meant with compatibility. I image you'd have problems mixing some of the larger non-reef safe genus (ie-coris) with some of the smaller reef safe genus.

Sidenote- the non-reef safe genus are usually only not safe because they'll pick on the inverts and turn anything over in the tank they can looking for food. They won't directly bother coral.

Also, something you would want to avoid in a smaller tank is two male flasher wrasses. In a larger tank, it probably wouldn't be an issue.

Thanks again evolved - I was considering a canary wrasse
but that article has just added a new one to consider - Halichoeres ornatissimus

never had 2 wrasse in the same tank, as I did not want to risk any issues
but your right, I have read accounts of certain wrasse bullying other wrasse and assumed that this was going to be the case with the reef safe ones

Another to consider may be the Halichoeres melanurus.

I had a bad experience mixing two Cirrhilabrus wrasse, so I'd be scared about mixing two Halichores wrasse, but I know other people do it no problem. Just my bad experience!

KC, I think your experience was just a bad combo. I've heard others having problems with that combo too (Flame wrasse & a Red Velvet Wrasse).
