Well the tank doesn't look very good right now....I moved it upstairs in July of '08 and it crashed about 2 months later. I was frustrated and just let it go, boy what a mistake......algae has taken over!!.....I made the mistake of taking the rock out of the tank and washing the algae off, proly shouldn't have done that...oh well....only a single yellow tang in the tank right now and here are a few pics....as you can see by the first picture I have a great deal of natural light in this room, so I will take better pics tonight with a detailed description of what I have. Thanks.

    Pics

What we got is a 75 gal oceanic corner overflow tank. An 80-90 gal water tank with a pro clear 150 in the tank. The pro clear has a 2 inch hole drilled in the bottom to flow into the holding tank. A precision marine pro series substrate reactor (SR35P). A Blueline 100 pump, and a 1/3 hp tradewind inline chiller. A yellow tang, and 100 lbs of panamanian live rock. Thanks for lookin.

it doesn't have to be, it will help slow down evaporation which is a benefit. You don't want anything falling in there, so if that is a risk, then I would cover it, but I really don't have mine covered.
