For some reason I just never had any doubt that there was water in one form or another on Mars. I believe it was the condensation on one of the rovers that first caught my attention. What really surprises me again and again is that the state of AZ usually plays some part in this research and exploration. Granted the state has some of the best telescopes and a huge research department devoted to astronomy, but cutting edge does not come to mind when I think AZ (no offense intended).

The image on the link looks a lot like Death Valley to me, so I call conspiracy. :)

    How ironic!? haha.

This as very cool! I have been following the whole Mars exploration (somewhat) for some time now. This sure is an interesting find.

And here I thought it was increased visibility in the night skies, kind of the same reason New Mexico gets the same type of attention from astronomers.

We do have a lot of restrictions on light pollution, which is cool. AZ is also home to some of the best sun telescopes on the planet.

AZ also has probably the largest number of reported UFO sightings on the planet, this is the reason I am surprised AZ is on the cutting edge of this type of research.

I miss living in the country. I can see a few stars in the city though

As to the water, I think it was always though that it was locked in frozen ice caps. So, the fact that it may flow, is really cool. I remember a while back they found evidence of past flowing water, but it looks like there still may be flowing water. Really would be a great discovery if it pans out :)
