    Sorry for the late response to your last question. The people at BRS calibrate the refractometer to 35 ppt. before they ship it to you. I just check the calibration every few uses with the calibration fluid supplied by BRS. The instructions on the bottle of calibration fluid also suggests to calibrate to 35 ppt. I have double checked my SG at my LFS and the results are usually the same as mine.
