I'm getting ready to make a 30 gal huge also. What ate the dimensions of your baffles (height & spacing). Thanks

the first baffel is 6 in from end and 6 in high from bottom of tank, second is 1 in from first and is 14 in high mount from top of tank, third is 1 in from second and is 7 in mount from bottom, forth is 12 in from third and is 14 in mount from bottom. T 6in secton is for return , 12 in sect. is for skimmer and the last sect is for fuig . If you decide to go that route then the 3 rd baffel might have to be changed on hight dim depending on skimmer of how much water hight is needed for that skimmer . I'm useing a coralife ss 125 . The 1,2,and 3 baffels make up a bubble trap. Good luck on what ever way you decide

hello wayne, im building 20gal fuge as we speak buying the acrylic and silcone tomorrow.. and i was curious after we have made them how are you going to introduce 30 gallons of unestablished water into your established DT water? just let it flow and hope nothing bad happens??:-/... also how are you going to introduce your livesand without making your tank horribly murky for awhile

The introduction of new water won't hurt anything , it is no different than doing a part water change . When you built the refug you rinse the sand in salt water first then you fill the sand compartment with the sand and water and let it settle that way when you start the system up there will be no un filtered water going in just clear water

when you add the water, just make sure salinity, calcium, ph, alk, mg, and temperature are similar to you tank or else you could run into trouble.. if you dont have any coral, just worry about the Salinity, PH and Temp..

alright thanks! i wasnt sure if dumping 15 gallons of water through my only 37 gallon tank would cause a cycle. but it does make since, its similar to doing a biig water change i guess.
