Ok, have 2 fish in a fairly new tank (about month and half)...

Had the skimmer off for cycling and when I got the fish, turned it on...

This thing seems to fill up all the way in a matter of hours- what is happening?

    I have a 55 gallon tank...

    Thanks!

is it wet skim? thin light brown liquid? if so, you need to adjust it.

slide that band, that is around the cup down, so the cup sits a little higher in it's hole, that should help ya. do it until you get drier goo.

Sometimes it will just fill with liquid, don't know why, it should only do this rarely though. If it is new, it could just be breaking in and adjusting.

Alright, moved that band down all the way but that darn thing keeps bubbleing until I get a light brown liquid filled up all the way everyday...

At least now it is taking longer than a couple hours :)

And yes, the tank is fairly new... Should I turn it off until I get more fish and more solid waste is apparent?

    Thanks!

Also... The skimmer is emitting a lot really tiny micro bubbles, this is normal no?

how long have you had the skimmer running? they can take about a week or so to break in.

I guess less than a week...

Just a pain that it is sucking up so much water every day!
