I have, what I believe is Fern Caulerpa, growing on one of my Mushroom corals. The caulerpa is starting to take over the surface area, causing the mushrooms to recede. I have pulled off the caulerpa from the coral by hand while the coral is in the tank, but I was not able to do a very good job. What I want to do is remove the coral from the tank and place it in a tub of freshly made SW (same SG and Temp. as D/T) and attempt to remove the caulerpa this way. Does anyone see a potential problem with my procedure?

I would do a water change and use that water instead.

I second that. use the water out of the tank in your "Sick Tank" / bucket/ tub. less variables the better
