After pretty much everything but one hermit crab die in my tank I am now reworking everything. I reduced a lot of live rock and refugium substrate; got a nice skimmer. I had a really bad problem with nitrate in this tank, even after a full water change and scrubbing the rocks i still have a high rating. I am wonder what are good refugium plants to use? I currently have some of that stringy algae that has small bubbles on it and floats around, horrible stuff always getting tangled in the pumps. I did order 12 mangrove plants to start a little grove down there. Any suggestions on plants or what have?? also if anyone could share if they have extra would be great. I am trying to get away with not having to use a canister filter and just use nature to do my filtering.

Gracillaria and Chaetomorph are two proven macroalgaes!
