    bought my 1st ricordia today. along with some boring astrea snails and a red scooter blenny. the ricordia is about the size of a loonie (canadian dollar) and i liked the colors in it. now a couple questions. its photosynthetic? and high in the tank ujder t5's is okay?

    They feed from the light and take in some of the fish food. In time they will split and make more.

    When bigger they will take small chunks of shrimp, etc..
    Mod flow, Mod light..

    That looks like a Tri Color, very nice.. I have a couple, plus green, blue.. nice corals.

    I have a ricordea florida teal and orange, new to my tank. I asked about light and flow, it seems that many responses say lower in tank is good. I have mine about an inch and a half off bottom, just off to the right of one 150w 14k MH light, lower flow down there and it's very vibrant! They can split on their own, grow another mouth and such with quality water params. If you're feeding with food that includes micro particles they can grab that from water column. A bit time consuming but I read that leaning them onto a rock can encourage them to attach to that rock with time. Don't know if it works or not. I do like them though!!
    I hail from Grand Island NY, have a cottage in Bracebridge Ontario, I have loonies, so I know what size you're talking about!!
