rbok.. I'm extremely sorry for your loss. I aquired an unhealthy naso a few weeks ago and it only lasted about 10 days, they are very personable and easy to get attached to. I can only imagine how you'd feel after having it that long.

    about the ich...

I thought if no fish contracts the ich in the DT then eventually it will die off? Please correct me if I'm mistaken!

    stonewilled....thanks.

As far as the ich...I don't know. I have done a bit of research that say that it will die off if there are no hosts for 6-8 weeks, but no guarantee because the parasites live in the substrate and could possibly survive longer, so that option is not failsafe. Most of the stuff I have read say it is pretty much impossible to NOT have ich in your tank, that most just live with it and it only shows itself when stress occurs or a new fish is introduced. With that said, I have no idea what caused this breakout, because my Naso was the last fish to enter the tank. I did add a softball size live rock covered in Zoas and Anthelia to the tank about a week before the breakout...maybe that added stress or a small cycle (but my prams stayed fine). Anyway, I don't know what to do, I can't put all my fish in my little QT for 2 months. I am in search of some sort of reef safe treatment...I have seen a few online, so we'll see. So far none of my others have seemed to contract it (except for one of my clowns, but it appears to have cleared up). I will keep everyone posted!
