    Anyone know of a risk calculator for rimless tanks? or how to find out if its safe to remove the euro bracing? apparently there is one on reef central, but I must be blind cause I can't find it anywhere

    neither have i but why would you want to remove the brace anyways?

    well the glass on my tank is 9.5 mm, so 3/8 really thick, considering its only a 37 gallon cube lol, Its custom, I got it used, and I'm curious about going rimless cause I like the look

    its probaly there for a reason just saying lol and imagine if you set it up and in a year when the seals get old you come home one day to a tank that looks like it exploded across the floor with all of the inhabitants dead :/ just my 2 cents

    yeah that the thing though, the eurobracing was put on by the previous owner out of that same fear. it isnt one piece, its cut at each corner, so to me the only purposes I see it there for, is a lid, protecting the edge of the glass, and maybe... MAYBE protecting the glass from bowing. but it was built as a rimless tank
