I'm trying to figure out where to put my RO/DI unit.

Where do you guys put yours? Where do you store the water?

    Thanks,
    Clancy

I put mine in the basement near my washer and dryer because:

    1. I had an extra hose outlet thing there.
    2. In case I over fill and we have an overflow problem, it's in my basement near the drain, not in the kitchen or wherever.
    3. It's out of the way, I can make several jugs of water and not be tripping over them.
    4. I can keep the salt in the basement and not have to make a mess upstairs.
    5. Easy to run the drain line to a drain in the basement.

    :)

under kitchen sink. I have a faucet on sink(cooking ,drinking) then I have a 25' hose with a shut off that I run out to 30g trash can. Will fill can in 24 hours, not 25 hours opps. Best of both worlds.

When I get mine im going to put it in the laundry room. ( I dont mind Carrying water up the stairs) Also, I plan to build a tank into the wall in a few years after I switch to a better paying job. So the water would be right there.

As far as storage my plan is to use rubbermaid trash can with a ball valve towards the bottom so I can place a bucket under it and dispense my water into a five gallon bucket.

I'm waiting for a Kent Float valve shut off to arrive and then I'm mounting my 6 stage unit in the laundry room over the washing machine. The plan is to use a hose "Y" to split the cold water to the washer. Then off the free end feed the RO/DI unit which will feed a 18gal container I have behind the door. This will be equipped with the float valve so that I will always have around of 12 gallons of RO/DI water on hand and not have to worry about overflows when I'm not home or asleep.

This is of course the plan :p... once everything comes, I'll post on how it works, pics, etc...

One more note they make a battery alarm for water. GET ONE. Put one by it so if it leaks you will know.

I don't have one yet so I just put my 5gal water jugs in a rubbermaid container in case they overflow. I do use the kitchen timer (it takes 2 hours and 15 minutes to fill a 5gal) to help too.

hook mine up to the shower. Just take the shower head off you can get an adapter at home depot for like 2.00. Works great since I don't have any other place to put it and if it leaks or over flows no problem its in the shower. 5 gal buckets leak tite lid.
