Sounds like your membrane is already shot.

With that high of a TDS coming out of the RO membrane - it is only natural that your Resin will be depleted too rapidly.

You should see something more like 1-6 or so TDS coming from your RO membrane.

Having 155 TDS OUT of the RO is WAYYY high IMHO.

Maybe you can root back to the seller and demand an explanation. Or else your sourcewater is AWFULLY dirty.

Have you tested your source water? I'd be curius to see what your source water is.

A properly functioning membrane should remove 96%+ of the TDS coming into it.

So either your membrane is really shot already or your TDS in your sourcewater is EXTREMELY high.

The filtrate and waste lines coming out of the membrane are swapped...

    New or used?
8 is high for RO only if the tap water TDS is 155, thats only just under 95% rejection rate. Most new Spectrapure membranes are in the 98+% rejection rate range.

Did you take the time to trim the capillary tube flow restrictor to 4:1 waste ratio?
What is your water temperature? You could have CO2 problems as I do which depletes DI resin quickly, domestic wells are famous for CO2.

40 psi is the bare bones minimum pressure a membrane will function at with any success. They higher the pressure, up to say 100-125 psi the better the membrane will work.
