    so what is wrong with the one i bought?

    Is it not making good RO water?

    It's making good r.o. water but you'll spend alot more on replacement DI cartridges than you would if the unit had a vertical di cartridge.

    Just out of curiosity where is some info for this horizontal/vertical debate?

    I thought that most ion exchange resins could be "refreshed" by running a strong acid? through them....

    Well a 100 GPD R/O waste 400 to 500 GPD or 4 or 5 to 1 of rejection waste water and you are not getting full mileage of quality water that you could be getting thats all I'm saying . I have the very same unit as that in a box in the garage .. I told the guy not to by that type unit . To just get a simple R/O and a 30.00 add on D.I But he like many are impressed by valves and tubing and n cylinders :)

    technically i would say its partly physical and partly chemical.:p

    Nope no chemicals involved just pressure and gravity and weight. ;)
