ok so long story short i was given a royal gramma ( 2 inches long) from a friends tank hes currently in a 29 gal biocube with 2 damsels. but they are only there the keep the tank from cycling while i await my new mantis. my mantis should be here this week and i will have to put the 2 damsels back in my 55 how ever i have a black cap baslet and an orange peel psudo in there so i dont think i should put the gramma in there.... i do have a 10 gal molly tank do you think he will be ok in there???

um not with the mollys cause there freshwater. if you switched it from fresh to saltwater then i guess the fish could go in.

Actually, mollies are one of the few that work in a salt tank.

How long would you be keeping it in the 10G?

You would have to steadily acclimate the mollies to saltwater. I wouldn't do anything under a few days worth of acclimation just as to not shock and kill the mollies.
That's why I don't like cycling with fish. You don't know what to do with the poor things after you've used them and ready to cast them.

For short term, it would be fine. I wouldn't keep it in there for more than a couple months. They like to swim fast.

if you had to you could put the gramma in the SW molly tank, but I would be looking for a new home for it.
