I know RGs are known for weird stuff, but mine (after coming out of a 3 day hiding) is rubbing himself against the sand on the bottom of the tank. Is it trying to itch something off?

Keep an eye on him/her as it could have ICH. Usually they will start scratching before the white cysts appear.

Anything I can do to decrease the chances? Water change?

I thought I remember reading you can raise temp and/or lower salinity?

WHOA WHOA WHOA!!! hold up first of all. do you even know if ur fish is sick? wait a few days to see what ahppens and do not do anything drastic. Just see what happens and if ick is the case then go for treatment. you cant reduce any risk if ich is already there.
