I can't catch a pic of this. My Royal Gramma has two, what look like, antennae sticking out of its mouth or coming from its lower jaw.

Is this a normal growth or does it possibly have a hermit crab or hermit crab molt sticking out of its mouth?

It has been there for at least three days. Maybe forever and I'm just noticing :-/

I will continue to try to capture this with my camera.

depending on your camera you could try putting it on sport mode and see if you can capture it.

I have never seen antennae on a royal before

Maybe it's losing its baby teeth.

the antennae are gone... and I don't see my peppermint shrimp anywhere (which is actually unusual in my case).

I will have to keep an eye out... I wonder if it's a crab molt. That's what I'm really thinking it was right now.

Sounds like it tried to eat something that ended up getting lodged in it's mouth. It should come out.
