As I got home today I looked at my tank. Everything seemed to be o.k. But... I could not find my new Royal Gramma I got on Sunday. I looked everywhere ,and finally found him "hiding" in a rock. I then left, happy I found my new fish. As I returned, a couple hours later, I still saw him in that same spot. I started to panick. I took a closer look, and I could tell he was trying to swim out of the rock. I had realized he was stuck. I knew this was bad...very bad. With some help I was able to get him out without having to take the rock out of the water. He darted away, and now he is behind a rock hovering in the water. I can tell he is now breathing heavily. His gills are moving fast, and coming out far from his body as he breathes. He could have been stuck there the entire day..... What are his chances? Can I save him? What should I do? Please help!

He will be just fine, just give him time and the stress will wear off, just keep an eye on him though.

When I did my tank transfer my royal gramma got stuck in a rock and stayed for hours in a cold tub of water inside the rock. When I found her she was swimming upside down and I thought for sure was a goner. A few days later she was good as new, very resilient. Best of luck, keep your eye on it, that's all you can do really.

Agreed they are very hardy. You could turn off your daylight bulbs and try to do other things. Sitting there, staring at it will probably stress it out more. They live in rocks and are adapted to going through small nooks and carnies. There really isn't much more you can do.

If worse comes to worse, try fishy CPR, just hold it in front of water flow to get water through his gills. This saved my blenny that jumped out of the tank. Just wait it out.....

Not going to do that now though...If it gets worse like you said..... Right now IME the only reason for the fish to die would be stress
