I set up a 300 gallon tank at my office about 8 months ago. Figure if I have to work i might as well have something to stare at...

This tank has well over 400 lbs of rock and the only inhabitants are a Foxface, six line wrasse Yellow tang and Sailfin tang

I added the sailfin tang about 2 months ago and he has been doing great. I bought the yellow tang about 2 weeks ago on an idiotic whim since he was only 2.99 They all got along fine for 2 weeks then today they all 3 Sailfin, Yellow and foxface keep hovering in the same corner hitting eachother with their tales.

Is this a dominance thing? I tend to avoid all fish that could potentially fight, so I really dont know if its just trying to establish dominance or an actual were going to fight to the death.

If all else fails I can pull him out of the office tank and put him in my 180 but if its only territorial stuff Ill leave him

My purple and yellow did the same thing for a couple of months, but then they stopped and haven't done it since. Shouldn't be a problem. Just let then get use to eachother and they will be fine!

i don't know about the foxface i have a yellow and redsea sailfin tang in a 220 it is natural for them to see who the best man is from time to time. the sailfin will lose if it come down to someone has to go. the yellow's switch blade seems to be more prononced and will cut deeper in my mind. i believe they will work it out. try not to worry to much, mine get along great 98% of the time they just flex mostly now. i hope this helps ease your mind.

Tail slapping is a dominance thing.
