ok so things are not looking good for my Sailfin. last two days he has been hiding in the back of my tank but still swimming around. got up this morning to look for him and found him in a very small cave on his side but still moving. this cave is all the way to the bottom of my tank and cannot be reached without tearing the whole thing apart. the only thing that has changed was the addition of two coral frags: Anthelias and Nepthea. could they have caused this? should I leave him for now? get him now?

    Water params:
    nitrate:20ppm
    Nitrite:0
    ammonia:0
    PH:7.8 been consistantly at this
    water temp79-80

Sorry to hear about your fish. What is up with your pH? Always like this?

my ph since I moved to the 75 has been at 7.8 it got up to 8 but now is back down to 7.8. hopefully I will have the nitrate taken care of in a few weeks. I have a 20 gallon tank, baffles cut, and am on my way to get some silicone for my refuge. hate losing fish!! do I have aything to worry about with the Brittle star eating it?????

No worries on the tang. The clean up crew will do its job. Now for your PH issue. Do you have glass covers on your tank?
