I have a young sailfin tang, and it was happy, swimming with the rest of the fish, and enjoying itself. I woke up this morning, and decided to examine the tank. I turned the lights on, and it was laying on the substrate, barely breathing. I'm wondering if I'm feeding it wrong. Right now,'it's meals consist of mysis shrimp, cyclo-peeze, brine shrimp, and marine pellets. It's looking skinny, really skinny. Should I try algae and a clip? Anything to keep it alive. :(

They need a diet high in algae. Nori is a good food. Hope it isn't too late.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Sorry to hear about your fish problems:-/

In the future you can not go wrong feeding marine algaes to tangs. Major part of their diet, much more important than mysis, cyclopes and brine shrimp are not a good food for adult fish, empty calories.

    Good Luck

Thanks for your help. I brought it to my lfs for rehab. They put him in an isolated tank. But I think it might be too late. I guess you have to learn from your mistakes. :/

+1 on vegies. My sailfin is young and will go through a whole sheet of seaweed in a week. Major part of their diet. Hope yours gets better!
