Not sure if I am on the right board.

I have had my aquarium up for about three months now and have kept the salt at 1.023. I bought a candy cane recently and the care sheet I found said they like salinity from 1.023-1.025 like many other corals. So I raised the Salinity to 1.024 to find a happy medium. My blue hippo got ick real bad and my sailfin got a small amount. I started feeding garlic flakes which helped a little. Then after doing research on ick I found that ick thrives at higher salinity. So I lowered the salinity back down to 1.023 and the ick seems to be going away. Now my yellow tang has red markings on his body around the fins. Is there any connection of these problems to the change in salinity?

    Ammonia, nitrite, nitrate at 0.

Thanks for the help. I'm clueless.

No, it has nothing to do with the salinity change.

I'm not very familiar with common tang ailments, so someone else who has kept one ought to guide you there.... but it's not related to the salinity.
