will adding preonditioned saltwater from my LFS run anyrisk of adding a parasite (ICH, Velvet, anything) to my QT. or better to get RO/DI and mix. trying to avoid cycle in my QT and cant use my DT water cause its infected with ICH i think.

better to use water from DT and treat the fish in that water then just add some to my cycling DT? what???

If you are treating the fish with meds, it will also kill any ich that may be present in the water. If so then go ahead and use water from DT.

I always use fresh saltwate rin a QT to lessen the chance of transferring something to the QT. I keep a new sponge in my sump at all times that fits in the AC side fiilter so I have bacteria charged and ready to go.

Just a question and don't mean this in a bad way at all, just wondering. Wouldn't there be more chance of something harmful being in the filter media than loose in the water column? I figured there would be more bad bacteria or whatever settled on surfaces than loose in the water column?

Yes there could be. I usually am QTing new purchases before I put them in my display so I am more concerned about what they may be carrying not my display quality which I have a better idea of. If its something already in your display then all bets are off.
