saltwater test results...???

    Ok, I fed the fish a cube of frozen food this a.m. and an hour later took a sample of water to be tested. Probably should have waited a couple hours but wasn't thinking. btw, 55 gallon tank with 20 gallon water change a week ago.

    Test results(not strips):

    ph 8.2
    ammonia 0
    nitrite 0
    nitrate 40 ppm
    kh(carbonate hardness) 20 ppm

    This is starting day 2 of the breakin period for the new coralife skimmer. Will the skimmer help any of this out? Suggestions?

    The skimmer will help keep nitrates down by removing waste before it gets broken down by your bio filter.
