Im about to go to my LFS to pick up something to get rid of the diatoms on my sand and just to add to my CUC. What do you guys suggest is best for keeping the sand bed clean. its an OCD of mine I really like a clean sand bed.

I just try to get a powerhead as close to the sand bed as possible without getting a sand storm. Narcissus (sp?) do a pretty good job I think. Maybe get some hermits?

I would get a sandstorm.... I have lots of hermits they aren't doing a good job. I could use some more snails... Im hoping they have a tiger conch or something.

Diatoms will go away on their own.
You could get a fighting conch to help.
OCD and this hobby don't mix well...tanks are never perfectly clean! You'll have to try to channel your OCD toward stuff you can control, such as water parameters.

I know they will go away on there own but I needed to add to my CUC anyways :p so might as well help it along faster! OCD doesn't really mix well with anything. Im okay with some algae, I just hate a dirty sand bed XD my parameters are awesome :) but channeling OCD into that would be good

Dwarf Cerith snails or Florida Cerith Snails should work. John Maloney from ReefCleaners.org would be who I would get them from if you can't get them locally. He's a 3Reef sponsor and an awesome guy.

    I'll look into that thanks!

Like a diamond goby? I thought about that.. I wanted the nassarius snails but they didn't have any!!!! But the guy at the LFS said he had some really big ones that he would give me in his tank... haha it was funny he had to ask the manager if he could give me his number :p so he wouldn't get in trouble I assume. So maybe i'll be picking a few of those up!

Diamond gobies get 7 inches long, I'd pick a smaller type for a 40 gallon tank.
