    I was just down in florida and was thinking that could you put sand dollars in your tank. Where you you buy them i saw on on DFS WYSIWYG but that was it. What do they even do for the tank?

    AFAIK the only thing they will do is stir up the sand a little bit, they are filter feeders and won't do much except bury themselves in the sand and come up at night to feed from the water.

    Unless you have a very large and well-established system, they will starve. Not only that, you'll never see them. They stay under the sand most of the time.

    You need a DSB and as previously mentioned, you won't see them often. They are good for DSB because they do a pretty good job of cleaning the sand.

    ohh. but i have 80lbs of sand and about 4 inches or does ti have to be like deep
