    Hi there,

Yet another newbie thread, but hey we were all one once upon a time. I am starting a 75G FOWLR tank and I am wondering what would be a better option sand or CC? I have had CC in the past but don't know the pros and cons to sand and CC?

    Thanks in advance

    Welcome Lionking!

Smaller sand provides more surface area for your dentrifying bacteria to occupy, which provides greater biofiltration for livestock. This coupled with Live Rock will give you maximum ammonia removing capacity.

    Well said by Craig!

As an add on info, CC has the bad tendency to trap debris.
