sandbed problem

i just added chemipure elite and 2 powerheads and giesemann bulbs onto my reef lastnight and ever since ive had issues this morning the algae is growing back rediculously fast on the walls i have tons of micro bubbles in the sandbed coming up and the fish 2 damsels were pale and gasping for air there not sick at all i know that the only changes is that i fragged my red monti this morning and since than the micro bubbles started up weird?

 

did the powerheads disturb the sand bed? how long has this tank been set up? what is the size? and how many fish do you have?

 

Increase your circulation and point all of your circulation pumps at the the surface to create a lot of disturbance on the surface for gas exchange. It might be a reaction to the addition of the Chemi-pure since you have changed your water's chemical make up. The bulbs are just adding more energy so the bacteria and algae can take up nutrients faster.

Did you rinse the Chemi-Pure per its instructions?

 

55 gallon two electric blue damsels its been up for 4 months but it was just a changed out tank the rocks been with me for over a year i just needed a new sandbed

its not pulling the sand up and stirring it i think it might just be gases leaving because i did also lower the powerhead closer to the sandbed and add another 550 gallons of circulation

and with the algae i took off the acrylic lens because it kept sticking so i couldent change bulbs but i turned that fixture off and im ordering a new t5 setup
