I think i've noticed this on previous clownfish I've had with no ill effects, but as I was walking by my tank I noticed that my CBS was out during the day, with his rear legs grazing my Sebae Anenome and he ran off as if it wasn't very comfortable, my clown seems distressed, most likely because something got near his anenome but I noticed the white on his head seemed to be missing in some areas, and I was wondering if the CBS or Anenome would have caused this, or if it may be something completely unrelated?

Looks to me like he spooked and ran against a rock. CBS will clean up the tenticles on an anemone. Mine does that all the time. I don't think the CBS did that. And the anemone is not a suspect as well. Just make sure your water conditions are kept good (usual good husbandry) and she will heal up in no time flat.

Fish will lose their scales if they flash against a rock or whatever. As long as your water is good quality, he should heal up within the week just fine. My 4-stripe damsel got bullied and had a scratch on his side, but it healed in about 5 days. Keep an eye on him, he should be fine.

My neighbor gave me a book to read about Head and Lateral Line Erosion in marine fish a few months back.

Ever since then, I have been dosing my tank with Vitamin C. I have also noted from several other local reefers that his helps in the color of their clowns and the regen rate of their scales from being silly and rubbing some off with the rocks.

I also dose Vodka.. but that's another story for another time. ;)

Just for the reference, I had an evil CBS at one time that tried to kill everything that moved and was at times successful, I once witnessed it take a chunk out of my maroon's fin! It even attacked the anemone's tentacles and the bubble coral by pinching and tearing at them, if it was cleaning then that is a very harsh way of cleaning. I was glad when it died.

Noperz, I buy a liquid and dose like 1 drop a week. I'm doing a big write up on what i dose and such then make a post with some (RESERVED) posts after the fact. ;)
