I am going to put sand in and let the ro unit fill it tonight. I just so happen to have enough length of tubing to reach the tank.

Thank you and my avatar is not the pic of mine. Sadly I had to find new housing for my mandarin as I tore down my other tank but I will get her back and if not I will definitely get another one. I will not be able to house one for awhile though. Mine did look just like my avatar and had beutiful markings.

if that rock right in the middle on the bottom isn't supporting anything I would suggest moving it to have open sand bottom in the middle.. maybe move it to where the three smaller ones are piled up to the left of it and redistribute them around.. no particular reason other then it looks like it doesn't belong.. and trust me.. that feeling sucks.. ;D

Are those returns going to be hidden or just poking on out of there?

The returns will be shortened and hidden the best way I can after I get all the sand and such situated.

    Thank you

Big Toys for the Big Boys. LOL That is the TEK 8x54 fixture with the UVL Bulbs.

At First I thought the same thing about it looking out of place but it gives a good cave and a place for a showpiece coral on the shelf. But I am open to more suggestions. Does anyone else agree that it looks out of place.

13, rock work can be very tricky!! When I just set up my 180, I had the rock just the way I wanted it, a few islands all seperate from each other, I wanted to avoid the wall of rocks everyone likes to do.... Then I had to add the other 40#s or so and ended up with more of a wall!! Personally I am a fan of islands, peaks, and just about anything that DOESN'T look like anyones tank I've seen. I also try to dig out my reef books and try to mimic what I see in the ocean!! At the end of the day the way it looks is solely up to you!!

Good luck, you are off to a good start!!

    Happy reefing!

Yep. With sand added, it will look like a cave. With the rock taken out, it will look like an overhang. It's up to you man. It'd look good either way. Flip a coin if you have to ;)

And that's good about hiding the returns. I saw them and was like "ummm...really? you really want those flappin out in the breeze there?" hahaha

Nice lookin tank! Can't wait to see it with stuff in it.
