Hey all! I have had a red scoly a little over 1.5 yrs and just recently it has been shrinking and shriveling...
I try to feed it on a regular basis and in the beginning it would readily take any food but has become kinda less accepting over the last 4-5 months. Anyone have any suggestions or tips to help it be happy again?

I know you've probably considered this, but any recent changes in flow or lighting?

Have you moved towards more of a ULNS over the last year and a half?

Has the light of flow changed around it? Take a look at the skeleton to see if it is getting irritated by something.

Normal light replacement and no flow changes other than the vortechs normal range.

Tank has not gone to the ulns route either, in fact there were some rodi unit issues and some TDS were slowly creeping into the tank. I have considered this as a cause but I was under the impression that scolys liked dirtier water

TDS and dirtier water are different animals. More DOC would be dirtier water.

Did you check the backside of the scoly to see if something is irritating it?

ill pull it out tonight to see what I can find on the underside... maybe a move will help it out anyways.

While I am at it do you think that it would be smart or stupid to try moving it to a different system?

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Dingo are there other LPS in this tank? What corals is it next to? ( I am sure you have already thought of this but humor me) :)

I myself would sure try another location.

I doubt it would do any harm if it isn't injured.

Its pretty much a loner in a corner all by itself (with a patch of cyano near it lol) the closest coral is some stray green palys and some clove polyps that found there way to that side of the tank. they are about 6" apart.
The only other LPS is a frogspawn in the opposite corner... and a small patch of annoying GSP that will not die no matter what I do to it!!!

I may move it out of my dad's tank into my personal tank where I can monitor it closely and feed it much easier. My tank is SPS dominant, BB and a very low nutrient system (if not technically an ULNS).
