    I've added one of these guys to my tank about a month ago and it hasn't touched any of my hair algae. I have no idea what this thing is eating, but it's alive and well.

    I have a 48" Metal Halide 250 T5 HO
    - (2) - 15k Metal Halides
    - (4) - 54 watt Super Actinic T5 HO bulbs
    - (2) - 7 watt Led, Moonlight

    what color is the back of your tank? do you have a colored backdrop? if you do or the color isn't clear...than the light reflected back at the tank from the wall or whatever focuses the light on the back....thereby increasing the surface exposure for any algae that sticks to the glass..try putting a dark colored cloth or any backdrop behind the tank....

    I love sea hares , if i could grow hair algae i would just so i could keep one around lol

    I spray painted the back black befor I set it up.

    He is My favorite lol. Kinda reminds me of a Hippo with no legs.;D
