    Thanks,need all the help I can get,I guess you really don't need to put them right in the tank,put them in a sump or top off water or can they go right in the tank?

    Either or. I always put them in the sump when I used them. If you don't have a heavy LPS or SPS load, it should keep your water well balanced.
